A huge *SIGH* at that... I don't think there'll ever be a chance for me to see him live.

if you know anything aobut Steve Vai let me just say Billy was playing many of the guitar harmonies on bass!!! (virtually impossible for us mortal guitarists to do just on guitar!)
He's also a pretty good vocalist, but his bass parts are amazing... so much better than the root notes we get from Alec/Hugh*
I am very well aware that I know absolutely nothing about basses, but even I can detect Billy's talent at bass-playing. He's amazing!!! That's why I love Mr. Big, they're all so very excellent at their instruments, and they do things that most players wouldn't even think of, let alone know how to play. I don't know if they are original or not, who came up with these guitar/bass harmonies and playing guitars with drills and stuff... But at least they sound amazing when Mr. Big are playing them.

I've been to Billy's site yes, but didn't download that song - I need to do that at home!

Mr. Big was one one of the greatest bands ever. Unfortunately they never got the recognition they deserved...

PG is the best guitarist, he can play anything and make it sound good. Billy does the same with bass and Eric... Well, let's just say that he can sing. And Pat know his drums. Too bad they broke up.

My collection as of now consists of 4 CD's, few rare singles plus few live albums and a Japanese Ep + Eric Martin's first solo CD. And some stuff on my comp...

Cool to hear that Ice!!! (and is it possible that you and Tom agree on something?? )

I never knew you liked them too! I absolutely agree about the recognition - they were only big in Japan I suppose. Which is quite surprising considering the talent all the guys have!

Wow - you have a lot more cds of Mr. Big than I have - it's not easy to get them here, I suppose. It's too bad I didn't concentrate on them more in the past few years, cause they are absolutely amazing. Or were, should I say? Any chance Ice that you could burn the cds for me, all I have is Lean and Bump and this one live concert thing on cassette...? I can trade or then pay you something, would be cool to get those...

Ice, do you know if any of the ex-Mr. Bigs are in new bands?

Yeah, you couldn't get the latest CD's anywhere, so I ordered them from Amazon...

PG is back with Racer X and doing solo tours. He also recorded an album with his uncle... And he's doing some sort of Beatles tribute. www.paulgilbert.com

Eric is doing solo stuff. His new CD (I'm Going Sane) is out and it's pretty hard stuff. His wife does the drumming. www.ericmartin.com

Billy is doing Niacin (the band!), Talas and his solo stuff. He's started singing solo on his new CD... www.billysheehan.com

Pat has disappeared from the face of the earth... Well, I guess not, but no one knows about him. Even his website is down

Richie has shaven his beard. And doing solo stuff as usual.
www.ritchiekotzen.com

If you like Mr.Big, I suggest getting Eric's solo stuff. The first after Big is softer and the second harder, but they're good nonetheless.

Pauls solo stuff is a bit weird, but if you like him, you'll like it. Haven't really heard Billy's new CD, but the things he's done in the past are a bit too jazzy for me.

To answer 2 things at once:

you can still see him - come to England one day because...

it's possible he'll be touring with Vai again - there will be a live DVD coming out soon and it is amazing

I have a video too from 86 with the David Lee Roth group - he is amazing

speaking of that someone i used to trade with had the vcd of Mr Big live
from Japan in 1999 (possibly new year's eve supporting aerosmith) - i should try to get hold of that.
