Really like Nickelback, have got everything from Silver Side Up onwards but I was really disappointed with "When We Stand Together". Total crap, especially the horrible way bit wihere Chad sings "Thats Thats Thats where...." where the word just sounds horrible. And the bit with "And the drumbeat goes on" or similar is just really bad.

But Ill give the album a go, Im sure they havent deviated much from their usual formula as they don't tend to much so hopefully as far as Im concerned its just a duff single.

yeah the choice of lead single is an odd one, When We Stand Together is alright, but there's too many cringey bits in it - especially the "drumbeat carries on" - that doesn't even make sense.

The rest of the album is pretty damn good though, This is War, Gotta Get Me Some, Lullaby, Kiss it Goodbye, Trying Not to Love You and Don't Ever Let it End being the best for me

Nickelback are a great band. Wasn't too fussed on them until i saw them support BJ at Manchester in 2006 and instantly was drawn.

I dont know why they are such a "marmite" band. (to non-Brits that means either really love them or really hate them - no inbetween). Maybe its because Chad Kroeger isn't your typical "easy on the eye" front man - and hasn't got the coolability. But the man is exceptionally talented, and they consistently churn out some crackers.

How is he exceptionally talented when all their songs sound the same and are based upon the same boring guitar riffs over and over again? What is he talented at? Drinking beer and being a douche?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I used to love Nickelback. Then they released Dark Horse. Now I slightly like Nickelback.

I just had to comment on this. It's been a few years since I've seen my last Nickelback concert or seen any pictures and today the bands Facebook page posted a link to their performance on Jimmy Kimmel last night. When I checked out the video I almost didn't recognize the man behind the mic. Holy plastic surgery Batman! I guess Chad got tired of being voted "ugliest rock star" and decided to make some changes.

Anyway, I've been a fan for years and seen them several times in concert. I think they're a great live band and Chad is a very entertaining front man. (and if the music thing doesn't work out, he could be a comedian) Their music might not be deep but it's good fun arena rock. I just finished downloading the new album but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet and I'm glad to read some positive reviews here. I'm so ready for this new album and a Nickelback tour.
