Just got it, and got through it once. It rocks, damn. Very damn good album. Even them slower ones, they do avoid cheesiness unlike, uhm, some other artists. Now this is the way a rock album should be put together, no weak moments. F****n album of the year so far! Sure kicks the shite outta Pop Jovi and alikes.

They at times sound like Metallica clones from the nineties with a singer who needs to sort of scream every word in order to get the right key and "emotion". They're booooring. In my opinion.

Hmmm, I don't find him whiney at all. I think his voice is aggressive, somewhat limited as far as what types of songs he could sing. You know, I don't think he could go from rock to a Motown cover to a Gershwin song to duets with Pavorotti or Willie Nelson like Jon. He doesn't have that versatility, or at least I haven't heard it. But I really love his voice for the type of music he sings. It fits.

Yeah exactly. He doesn't have a great voice but he's not stupid enough to write a song that he can't sing, which is an important quality to have. He sin't at all whiney, if you want whiney then listen to Coldplay.
