To me he was the most influential rock keyboardists of all time.... He'll live on in all the great music he gave to us. I mean Smoke on the water is gonna be played for hundreds of years to come

Can't believe how few people responded to this. He was the greatest! The mastermind behind Deep Purple. Such an amazing composer and songwriter. And the heaviest keyboard player rock music will ever see. Hope he's in a better place now.

And I still can't believe Coverdale fired him from Whitesnake for being too old and unattractive. Moron!!
