Springsteen or U2 could release the sound of themselves shitting and RS would give it 5 stars, and this comes from someone who LOVES Bruce and LOVES U2.

Ha, no arguing there, but even Bruce could make that sound good.

Yeah, it's called Working on a Dream

Just joking, that album has grown on me. It's taken a while but it's not as shit as I first thought. Some pretty good tracks on it.

To me, U2 seem to be the new Beatles: Everything they release is praised infinately by the critics and if you don't like it then...well you must be in the wrong Personally, not being a massive fan of U2, what I've heard of the new album isn't as good as How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, but hey, what do I know?

Ironically, the Beatles got critically smashed a lot by Rolling Stone in the late '60s.

I 'am a massive U2 fan and from already listening to the album once, I can honestly say that only the song "Magnificent" stood out for me, it's a great song. If a song sticks out the first time you listen to it, it has got to be good. This album doesn't come close to how good Atomic was, so I think you know something However probably after a few more listens I might fall in love with some more songs.

Do people even take Rolling Stone seriously anymore to care if they gave 5 stars to an album?
