Default The Beatles

Do, we have a thread about The Beatles? I had a quick look, but I couldn't find one.

I think its built into your blood that if you are from Liverpol, like myself, then you HAVE to love The Beatles. I've pretty much been a fan all my life, but only in the last few months, have I really started to appreciate their music that little bit more. I can't stop listening to a host of their albums at the moment including Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Magical Mystery Tour to name just a few.

I guess, I just wish I had been around for Beatlemania. That would have been class. Every year we have Beatles Week(end) here in Liverpool, which is also known as 'The Mathew Street Festival' that I go to on a annual basis. There is usually between 750,000 and 1,300,000 people here on August Bank Holiday Monday. It just seems to get better and better every year.

So, who else is a Beatles fan? What are your favourite tracks/albums?

Although, not a huge fan, I do like their music and apreciate what it and the band have done for popular culture today. My parents have a number of their albums which I remember them playing alot when I was younger.

I've always preferred the Stones to be honest.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

I've been a fan since I've been 15 so it's a longtime affair LOL. I do like their later stuff more than the early stuff though. They came a long way in my opinion.

The Beatles...best band ever.

Favourite albums - tie between Abbey Road and The White Album - just brilliant, totally legendary.

Most of their songs were single worthy, and in fact, so many were hits, it's mind boggling - billion records sold - and they only were together eight years!!!

Well, I don't need to rehash all their accomplishments, cause I'd fall short and incomplete, but best songs for me,

Hey Jude
Revolution
All You Need Is Love
A Day In The Life
Nowhere Man
I Want You (She's So Heavy)
Helter Skelter
Let It Be
Two Of Us

Sooo many more, I won't even attempt it. When Paul goes on his next tour (called the "Filling in the financial gap left by my new ex-wife world tour" perhaps???) I can't wait to go - imagine hearing Hey Jude by its creator, the beatle himself? Mind blowing for a guy who wasn't born until almost fifteen years after they disbanded.

I think it's built into your blood that if you're from ANYWHERE you HAVE to love The Beatles. They still are the biggest band on the planet and vital to the pop world. Still as relevant today as they were in the 60s.

My favourite song has got to be Ticket To Ride - "I think I'm gonna be sad, I think it's today" - what an opening line that is.

I also love I Am The Walrus.

Some real classics, but give me the kinks anyday! Or the Stones.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."
