True, its missing tie your mother down and Is this the world we created, two of my faves. I dont think id have bought Greatest hits 3 if It hadnt been included in the CD set. Its got some good Freddie Solo efforts and I like "Driven by you" but I could certainly live without Wyclef, Elton John and the "under pressure" remixed version.

I've only got Greatest Hits 2 and I think i'll keep to that but Greatest Hits 1 has some good songs on it too.

I'd start with the Greatest Hits packages.

You could go with the Greatest Hits, but then you only have their hits and that would be a shame. In order of my preference, this is what I would say you could get... this is only my opinion mind you!!

A night at the opera
The Works
A kind of magic
A day at the Races
News of the World
Queen II
Queen
The Miracle
Innuendo
Sheer Heart Attack
Jazz
The Game
Hot Space
Made in Heaven
Flash

I literally love every Queen album, each one has little gems on it. A night at the Opera has a few of my favourites and it was (if I remember correctly) that they had total artistic freedom after getting out of a contract. The Miracle made me a fan and has a great rock tempo. I'm not too keen on Made in Heaven, basically because it came out after Freddie's death and that was just too hard, but Let me live and Mother Love are the most beautiful songs ever.
If you need more info.. PM me!!

Queen II- all round brilliance, no bad tracks.

Avoid Hot Space and Flash- the latter is mainly instrumental songs, and Hot Space is an album that edges away from Queens Rock Roots and is more Funk orientated.

Hot Space sucks, i have been a fan since i was young, have all the albums but Hot Space just sounds so cheesy

The only decent songs on their is Los Palabros Di Amour??? ( the words of love ) and Action this day

But to hear songs like Calling all boys!!!!!!! what the hell.

Best Queen albums apart from GH are Magic, Innuendo and Made in Heaven, the last two because they have so many refernces to what was going on in his life. I suppose SCANDAL off The Miracle is a mild reference.

You know what disappointed me, in 2001, 24th November none of the tabloids had any thing about it being 10 years since his death, not much anyway, i thought their might have been some spread, but this man, who along with his band, stole the Live Aid concert and set the standards for Stadium rock was hardly mentioned.

Every outdoor stadium show you go to comes back to Queen and the Magic tour, The biggest stage, so big that they had to drill into the foundations of Wembley Stadium, the intricate light show, the flamboyancy, its all thanks to them.

I agree with all of that:

Hot Space: Has a few good songs on it (Pressure, Las Palabras, Put Out The Fire, Staying Power) but the others are either [1]badly written and/or [2]let down by poor instrumention- Roger's Drum Machines are that thing I hate the most about this album, especially as I am a drummer !

Innuendo and Made In Heaven are fantastic albums. They'd be worth buying for FM's vocals alone: despite the time these albums were recorded (1990-mid 1991) Freddie excels in his work and hairs will stand up on your necks when you hear songs like "the Show Must Go On", "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" and "Mother Love". The latter of which was the last song recorded by Freddie, at a time when he could barely stand and was very frail, but again he produced the goods in very hard circumstances.

"Scandal" (from the 1989 "The Miracle" album) is a reasonably big reference to what Mercury suffered during his final years from the press: in the Audio Commentry by Brian and Roger on the GVH2 DVD, Bri comments on this. Despite being released as a single (it charted in the Top 30 in the UK) it seems to be relatively unknown and I feel it is very underrated.

Live Aid is my favourite moment in Queen's history- beats Bo Rhap, beats the two shows at Wembley, beats any album. Why? With no soundcheck and a limited slot, Queen produced what has to be one of the most amazing performances in rock 'n' roll history. Take "Radio GaGa" from their set: remember Wembley was full of 72,000- not all of which would not have been Queen fans- but when it came to the appropriate parts they clapped. Fantastic moment.

The Magic Tour was one of Queen's best Tours- the ammount of people they played to, their performances, their tight sound. Although the sets were usually quite similar (there were only around 5 Variables, and one of which was usually played in 1 out of 3 shows), it is a groundbreaking tour.

Freddie's 12th death anniversary is just over three weeks away, but he lives on inside many people around this World. He is sorely missed, but in his 45 years on this planet he inspired a generation and composed some of the most beautiful and underrated music ever.

If you need anything Choclady, you can PM as well.

Live aid and those two nights at wembley looked amazing. I wish id have got chance to see them live, I dont think we'll ever see another lead singer with the amazing vocalrange freddie had. I never heard him miss a note on their live shows.
