I think the songs are good and have a balanced instrumentation. I don't want to praise her too much, but I couldn't help to think of Devils & Dust a few times. Now it isn't that calm, but it's truly similarly stylish, to me. The acoustic performances on the limited DVD were brilliantly filmed.

No, but she does do a lot of mid tempo stuff, which is what I prefer. I am not a big ballad fan anyway, so it has nothing to do with her in particular. I even skip the ballads on Bon Jovi's albums. Hehe

Got it today, only played through it a couple of times but its pretty good, very much more of the same. Only a couple of tracks stick out at the moment, and a few sounded a little like some of her other songs, but I like it.

If you like her previous albums and don't mind more of the same then I think you'll like it Jess. Her music always seems quite the same but not so much that I get bored with new albums. There are a few songs from the new album that I'm starting to quite like, which I think is normal, usually a few stand out tracks and the rest, well they aren't fillers, but just decent ones that I can usually sit through without wanting to skip.

I am the same as Mousey on this one. If the album really is full of ballads then I dont think I will bother with it. It is sat on my computer, but I dont wanna waste an hour of my precious time, with mushy ballads! We wants some rock Sheryl dear...

ballads ... ok .... but .... nothing to see with The Difficult Kind or Anything but Down or It's so easy or Diamond Roard, Over You etc .....

I'll try again and again ! i can't believe i don't like a Sheryl album !!!!
