I watched it last night. It's good but not a patch on the first two in my opinion. I don't really see why Christian Bale was chose as John Connor as he didn't get much opportunity to show his acting ability. I know The Terminator films aren't noted for their acting, but i still think it was a missed opportunity.

The story is ok but why would Skynet contain Kyle Reese once they had captured him? Surely killing him would have instantly Terminated John Conner and the core resistance?

I think the idea of a futuristic cyborg in modern day surroundings worked much better than the post apocalyptic settings of Terminator Salvation. I kept getting reminders of Mad Max even though the story lines are nothing alike.

It's still well worth watching and perhaps non fans of the franchise would enjoy it more. I love The Terminator and it's sequel so was hoping for something hugely superior than T3 in this latest installment. It is better but not significantly. I'd give it 7/10.
