Aftermath of the lowdown is good work, their sales are not good because of its distribution, almost in any country there aren't copies of the album, and his promotion has been low. I'm sure Sambora knew what would happen.

Actually, I like the album, I think it was worth it because it is a good job and has to be proud. Hopefully fourth and fifth solo album in the future. Anything is possible.
TFLR has been declared Gold by RIAA even if boxset sold only
125,000 units it is declared Gold by RIAA very few bands sell
boxset in large numbers

Stranger and Undiscovered many copies?

We're not in the 90s. Currently we are saturated with new internet music, no longer sell records because you can download them without paying. Finally, is Dangerbird, not Polygram.

The reality is that for the majority of Bon Jovi's fanbase, Bon Jovi is Jon. That's not to say that people don't appreciate and love Richie, but they love Richie in Bon Jovi.

I'm a massive Matchbox Twenty fan and I appreciate and admire Kyle Cook's role in MB20. I also know that he has made solo music, and he even takes lead vocals on the band's new album so I've been exposed to his music. Will I go out and buy his solo stuff? No. I love Nils Lofgren, but how does his solo work sell?

People are exposed to Richie in a particular role and are familiar with him in that way. The ultra diehards like us are exceptions to the rule, and only we will be interested in everything the individual band members do but we are just a tiny minority. This is why Jon doesn't give a **** about fans like us when designing a setlist because the truth is we represent such a minuscule proportion of the audience.

If Richie was serious about gaining success as a solo artist he would have to bust his shit going out and promoting his stuff, get properly involved in social media, knock on every radio door, play worldwide to small venues and festivals and build his audience over many years all around the world. Releasing the album in the shoddy manner in which AotL was released, playing only a handful of European shows, planning a few shows in the Northeast of the US and ignoring the rest of the world is not the way to gain an audience.

I hope Richie is happy with the album he made and proud of his product but he can't be surprised or feel bitter about how AotL was received (or not as is the case). Bon Jovi have built an audience and a fan base and can as such now get away with barely any promo and still have number 1 albums and sold out tours, Richie Sambora can't.

Richie *entire* album leaked almost officially weeks before it was supposed to be out, I am certain it didn't help the sales.

It was a pity there wasnt a little more decent promotion, as it only sold 3113 in week 1 in the UK, yet it would only have taken around 6,000 to make the top 10 that week. Even that's a tiny proportion of a BJ album sales.
Yet, it was also a struggle to actually find the damn album for anyone who did want to buy it, so certainly no-one casually looking would buy it. It was a shame as I really like the album, it sadly just wasn't announced to the wider world outside the Jovi core that it was out there.

Why is anyone surprised by this? I mean, I love the guy, but 100% of the non Bon Jovi fan population doesn't even know this exists, and about 99% of the fan population doesn't care.

There are even big Bon Jovi fans here on Jovitalk (who have very high post counts) who are not interested in the slightest with a Richie sambora tour or record.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Agree to an extent but those sales figures are massively disappointing. Perhaps being the Bon Jovi guitarist does not help a solo Richie Sambora in many ways.

Does anyone know what Stranger and Undiscovered Soul sold?

This must be crushing for Richie. Okay, the industry isn't what it was in terms of album sales, but to put out an album that he is clearly very proud of and has poured his heart and soul into and to see it ignored must be terrible. To have to cancel shows because of poor ticket sales (if that's what it was) must compound the hurt and embarrassment.

Let's not forget the fact that the album wasn't exactly great. I for one have still no desire to pick it up unless I find it dirt cheap.
