I like both songs. TYFLM a little more than the other, but both are nice to listen to every now and then

I like TYFLM a bit, but can't stand AALY. The thing is neither one of them is ANYWHERE near songs like NSG, IBTFY, BOR, Always, and TAALS. The only Post-2000 ballad that comes close to them is (IMO) Make A Memory.

TYFLM is ok. Never cared too much for the lyrics, but the melody is ok. I can't remeber first time I put the Crush cd on and heard the song. Hearing the first ver and chorus I though "ok this is fair enough", but when the solo came I was so disappointed. How on earth could they do that?
AALY, bad song, really bad. The only good thing about it was the idea I got for proposeal (correct grammar?) in the video. I'll consider that, when that day comes

What is wrong with All About Lovin' You guys? Good lyrics, very nice music, and Jon puts emotion into it.

somebody else on here called it lazy--I'd have to agree. it's almost lounge-singerish to me.

I don't care for either. I don't always skip TYFLM, but I do skip AALY.

They opened a can of Great Big Ballad Formula #19 and out came these two songs. That's why they suck. They're premeditated. They were written to play on the formula of past success to be hits. They don't deliver the heart of genuine inspiration, yet they were released as singles with the expectation that they would sell records.

To me they are decent songs, but they're missing something..... Perhaps they're too crafted or whatever but they just pale in comparison to the likes of Bed of Roses, Always, In These Arms, This Ain't a Love Song, etc. I mean, if I wrote them ("Looking at the pages of our life, faded memories of me and you") it'd be different. Because it's Bon Jovi, I'd expect/want better.

I love the screamy bit (before the last chorus I think... been a while since I listened to it) in AALY though.

I agree with Becky and Kenobi, wanna-be-hits trying to follow a succesfull formula. Crafted, really, IMO.

Still I do like AALY quite a lot. No matter how crafted, it is a professionally written pop-ballad with a beautiful melody. I suppose they just sat down with Desmond and said, "why don´t we write another ballad in the vein of previous hits". And after two hours they propably called it day.

Love them both, but i think I'm more towards TYFLM.

To everyone saying they were crafted, that's not really their only problem though.
Let's face it almost every song by a band like Jovi is "hit-crafted" to some extent. Hell look at TAALS, anyone who doesn't think that the success of BoR and Always didn't influence that song and it's place as lead single off of TD is nuts IMO. But TAALS is a great song nonetheless, something TYFLY and especially AALY can't claim IMO.
