He knows he ain't going to be doing this till he dies so he naturally he wants some different focus for when he isn't going to be doing it anymore. Paul McCartney is exactly the same but he doesn't get lambasted.

Agreed other than the last statement there. Hell - Paul McCartney gets shit thrown at every single ****in' day. Way more than Jon Bon Bon over here ever will.
The problem with Jon is, that's what I think, he changed a tad bit too much compared to other 80s hard rock singers. I mean, let's see...look at Brett Michaels, Joe Elliott, David Lee Roth...even people who were around longer and who Jon has worked with like Steven Tyler, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent. Not to mention the "real" guys like Dickinson or James Hetfield. Even ****in' Bono is still the same douche. Jon had to go through some odd transformation, become "important", "relevant" etc etc. His own choice. Yes - I prefer that to whatever happened to Vince or Axl or Sebastian Bach. Yet, everyone has their right to dislike it from a personal perspective. Which I do. I wish he was a little somewhere between Nikki Sixx and Richie Sambora. That'd be the perfect middle ground. Business minded with a big ego, yet joyful and happy and human.
