Hi, obviously these two songs get classed as the clones of 'It's My Life', which is a fair point. But, which song do you like better?

I go with Everyday, think it's a decent rock song and it's fun to listen to. I have never really liked Have A Nice Day, it's okay and it's goof live but I've always thought it was over-rated, while some people seem to love it.

Which do you like better?

Everyday is not a clone from It's My Life. It just has the same message and lyric "Live my life everyday" but is not a clone at all. Bounce, Have A Nice Day, Complicated, We Got It Goin' On. Those are the IML clones. Those songs have the same chord structures as It's My Life has, while Everyday is different compared to those.

Jon wrote Everyday with the succes of It's My Life in mind though. He thought that It's My Life became so big because so many people related to it. He never realized that no one gives a **** about the lyrics of a song that's as easy to the ears as It's My Life. Jon thought Everyday would be just as succesfull because of the lyrics having the same theme build around it, but was wrong as the song tanked and was only really big for the first few weeks.

I think Everyday is a shit song. You can't bounce to it, can't rock to it, and there's no proper flow in the electric version of the song. It sounds to overproduced and mudded, while Have A Nice Day is a song where they finally understood that you don't need to fill a song with guitars in order to make it sound heavy. Everyday also doesn't work as a live song. They never got it right.

Anyway, HAND is the better song. I like it much more than Everyday, which is It's My Life set to a "heavy" tune.

Everyday is the biggest of the IML "clones" IMO.
I know it doesn't have the same chord structure, but it's almost the same damn lyric. At least the other "clones" have messages that are at least slightly different.
HAND on the other hand, is a pretty good rock song IMO.

Have A Nice Day. I like Everyday (and I also the like the TLFR version), but HAND is just a bigger, better, ballsier song. A great way to round of the "trilogy" aswell.
