I haven't seen Bon Jovi live since 2006 and it's not looking good for this tour either, so I'm thinking of buying the Live at Madison Square Garden dvd to help fill the void.

Is it worth getting? Would appreciate any comments.

Its a mix up if both nights and some terrible mixing by Obie. I would recommend looking in to Hard Rock Calling 2011. There is a decent soundboard recording floating around and it has great vocals from Jon, plus a decent setlist.


Oh and it doesn't sound like a 15 year old mixed it either.

Yeah, don't buy it. I got a free copy and had to turn it off after a few songs. The camerawork is quite bad (they focus on a woman holding a baby or something during the guitar solo of Dry County), Jon doesn't sound so great compared to better shows of later tours and the overal sound is muddy like usual.

Like Panda says, try to get your hands on the audio bootleg of Hyde Park. Jon sounds very good on it and the set gets better as the show goes on. And if you need your video fix just look up stuff from youTube.

The entire thing is on YouTube so why not watch it there? Personally, despite it's faults, i like it and I'm glad I bought it.

I like it, but I didn't buy it, nor do I think it's necessary to buy. I only echo what the otherrs say about the Hard Rock Calling bootlegs. Great setlist and great show, plus a good mix.

The only thing I ever watch from that MSG DVD is Blood on Blood.

I'm biased because I was at both shows. So I love it, just to remember the shows. And I was right next to JBJ when he started Blood On Blood acoustic on a platform out in the crowd. Maybe me favorite all-time Jovi concert moment. Probably because my memories of the mid-90's shows are a little hazy.

It's not nearly as bad as this thread makes it sound. As far as their live DVDs go, it's not as good as Live From London or The Crush Tour, but it's a pretty good snapshot of the period. The setlist selections work, and the performance of Blood on Blood is a personal favorite of mine.

If you have a good HD TV with a Blu-ray player like me, then I'd get it. The setlist is very solid, and while the band may not be as good as they were on the crush or TD tour dvds visually it blows those two out of the water. Plus if you have good sound it sounds better than the other two as well. Overall I'm happy with that dvd.

I like it very much.

There are great performances on it and classic songs never realesed before on DVD as Dry County, Livin in Sin, Runaway (Crush Tour has the ballad version), Blood on Blood.

I know, the mix and cameras are not that great, but still, It´s a must have DVD/BluRay if you like the band
