Default Did you buy the All About Lovin' You Single?

I got mine this afternoon from Woolworths, which is suprising, as they don't usually have both versions.

I thought that Jons voice on the All About Lovin' You Acoustic version sounded almost identical to the original song, just with a couple of lines different.

Alive sounds awesome through surround sound too.

Was that sarcastic, or would you have actually liked it in 5.1?

CD

01 All About Lovin' You
02 All About Lovin' You (Acoustic)
03 Postcards From The Wasteland (Demo)
04 All About Lovin' You (Video)

DVD
01 All About Lovin' You (Video)
02 Alive (Demo)
03 Everyday (Demo)
04 All About Lovin' You (Making Of The Video)

The DVD tracks are in Stereo, but when I play them on my DVD player it says AC3 - 1 Channel...but they are clearly in Stereo, easily obviousy from just listening to them.

I think that AC3 is a DVD-Audio format, just like Dolby Digital (lol) or Nicam Stereo.

Anyone know for sure?

Aloha !

Eerrmmm. About that Dolby Surround...You can't play a CD in Dolby Surround. It's only possible with DVD and VHS with the Dolby Surround logo on them. As far as I know. Please explain ?

CD's are recorded in standard Stereo. When you get VHS tapes they either have Nicam Stereo (CD quality sound) or Dolby Stereo.

DVD can have a range:

Dolby 2.0 (Left-Right Stereo)
Dolby Digital 5.1 (Front Left-Center-Right, Rear Left-Right and bass channels)
Dolby Digital 6.1 (Front Left-Center-Right, Rear Left-Center-Right and bass channels)
DTS 5.1 (Dolby Digital 5.1, but with uncompressed, high quality sound)

I think a Dolby Digital 7.1 is in the works too, with upper and lower channels.

Which means a CD can't be played in surround sound. I've got Dolby Surround Pro Logic, and when I listen to a CD in Pro Logic surround the sound falls flat.

My player has Pro Logic II*, and most things sound good on it.

The Alive demo does, with a lot of the guitar noise going into the rear channels. It sounds great, especially when it's pumped up quite loud.

* Pro Logic II takes the Mono or Stereo sound from a CD/VHS/DVD and spreads it our amongst the 6 channels, creating a Virtual Surround Sound effect.
