I think it's where it deserves to be, a decent, but not great b-side.
That's pretty much what I meant.

It's not on the album because it doesn't fit the other material. Same as "Radio Saved My Life". Both are really great songs, but I can see how they don't fit to what the band was about back then. Jon said it about "Radio" - in the early sessions for KTF the band wasn't sure which direction to take, and those songs are maybe a bit more backwards oriented, more in the vain of the 80s. But they all make great bonus tracks!

I still don't know why "Save A Prayer" was left of the remastered versions of KTF - because THAT was a great track!!!

You know man, I was lucky enough, to get a copy of "Keep The Faith" remastered edition with "Save A Prayer" on it. And the booklet says there should be KTF live video. I was shocked while listening to the record for the first time. Intro is very quiet and then become louder and louder. Man... I didn't know what happened. And then I was just destroyed by the song itself... It's a monster track!Absolutely should be on the record... One of the best Bon Jovi songs...

Thanks a lot, but.. The performance is from 1993 and Jon said it's a new song. So it was after release of "Keep The Faith"... Then, shouldn't "Fields Of Fire" been considered "These Days" demo?

I mean, was the studio demo version recorded after, or before this performance? Is there any information about the writing date on the special edition of "These Days"?

I think the booklet says "KTF outtake"... Maybe it was recorded after the album sessions? That would explain the total different feel of it, doesn't sound like a KTF demo to me. Maybe it was from the sessions for "CrossRoad" and was considered for a possible release around the time.

Yeah, I heard there were some misprints. Crazy. But in any way much better to have "Save A Prayer" instead of that video, which is just taken from "Live From London".

Thanks for the youtube link btw. It's the first time I heard that "Fields Of Fire" has been played live. Amazing, they never really played their demos... except for "Cadillac Man" and "All I Want Is Everything" - which at least had been a regular bonus track in Europe back then,

Jon sounds terrible on the live version, especially the chorus.

I actually like this. It shows the top range of his vocals... even though he can't technically hit the top notes.... but I don't get it.... the live version is higher than the studio version... most bands take it a step down, not a step up and struggle to sing it.... also it's a pretty crappy recording....

What I don't get is why they didn't play a full-band version.
I mean maybe this would have made it easier for Jon to sing and hit the high notes as well....
