I reckon Jon'll sit down for 5 minutes with a pen and paper and jot down whatever he thinks is best since TD and stick it on a disk.

I'd expect this to be a good guess of what he'd choose:

TD:
These Days
Hey God

Real Life (?)

Crush:
IML
TYFLM/OWN

Bounce:
Everyday
Undivided

HAND:
Have Nice Day
WSYCGH

Lost Highway:
Make a Memory
Lost Highway

3 new tracks =

14 tracks in total.

Not saying I'd like these songs but I'd say if Jon was gonna pick these off the top of his head I'm guessing that's the kind of stuff we'd get. IML is a dead cert and HAND is 99% sure to be on. Jon loves LH and WSYCGH. MAM would be a decent ballad break for the album. Everyday and Undivded are top tracks off bounce. Real life is a strange thought but it might sneak on there. As for the TD songs Jon performed Hey God and TD on LH tour occasionaly, so I think that would be a good guess. Not sure what other crush tracks. OWN is a good track but say it isnt so or even TYFLM might make it on.

Still if I were a betting man...

We've discussed this so many times, it would be economically nonsensical for them to only release a TD and post GH.

On the one hand, I would kind of hope that a new GH didn't have anything pre-TD, simply because they already have a disk for that. If you are going to release just one GH disk, then make it post TD. If you want to release more than a disk worth, then give us a new box set. I don't think two disks would cover it.

However, on the other hand...first example I can think of where a similiar band releases a second GH is Duran Duran, and they definitly had a lot of the same tracks on both Decade and GH. So I dunno. It's been done.

...Just doesn't seem very logical to me. It's like burning two mix cds for a friend who has never heard the band, but putting the same songs on both. *shrug*

Some of the suggestions here are crazy.

Of course the Greatest Hits 2 will have songs from The Circle on it. And if its a 2 disc it definately wont be songs from just post 95. And also, I really doubt any songs which werent singles would make the cut. And of course WSYCGH will be one of the tracks (maybe not all versions but definately N. America and UK).

If it were a 2 disc set my bet would be...

Disc 1
1. Its My Life
2. You Give Love A Bad Name
3. New Song
4. Bed Of Roses
5. Wanted Dead Or Alive
6. Something For The Pain
7. New Song
8. Lay Your Hands On Me
9. Everyday
10. New Song
11. We Werent Born To Follow
12. Only Lonely
13. Who Says You Cant Go Home
14. Lost Highway

Disc 2
1. Livin on a Prayer
2. Have A Nice Day
3. This Aint A Love Song
4. New Song
5. Always
6. Bad Medicine
7. One Wild Night
8. In These Arms
9. Runaway
10. I'll Be There For You
11. Someday Ill Be Saturday Night
12. Keep The Faith
13. (You Wanna) Make A Memory
14. A Circle Song

Take a few songs off (cant have more than the magic number of 12 songs per CD) depending on where its going to be released and I think that this will the general gist of GH2. These Days and Dry County MAY be added for the fans. Born To Be My Baby and SISS/TYFLM might be in there as well.

And as for wsycgh, I really, really, really doubt they won't include it, no matter what kind of greatest hits they do.
My comment about WSYCGH wasn't inferring that. I said if it were a matter of including songs that I'd want to see on there, WSYCGH wouldn't be in that list ie. I didn't opt for HG and TD because I wanted them on there. IMO, there are much better tracks on TD to include before HG.

With respect to the comments about a GH not featuring songs that people have on other compilations/albums, GHs are not aimed primarily at fans who necessarily already have the back-catalogue. It's a chance for casual listeners to pick up a compilation of all of a band's most popular tracks so they would be killing any hope of decent album sales if they left off the pre-These Days material.

I guess it's starting with These Days. And as JBJ doesn't want to play it live and takes distance from it because that's not what the casual mainstream mass wants to hear, it will be treated like "Bon Jovi " and "Fahrenheit" on Cross Road and OWN Live. Min. one, max. 2 tracks is realistic.

I'm probably in the minority who prefers a single disc post TD GHv2 (they do have enough hits to fill a 15 track GHv2 since 1996). For two reasons:

1. I do not like rebuying songs more than once. In other words, if I already have a GH that has certain songs, I'd like the next GH (if the band is prolific enough to have a 2nd GH - in this case Bon Jovi does) not to include the songs I already own in the original albums and in the first GH.

2. I do not like Crossroad to be deleted. That is still a huge catalog seller, and I think it's better to just keep selling it so that maybe someday it will hit diamond. If the band releases a 2 disc "essentials" album, I am willing to bet that it does not have the chance to go diamond.

So assuming this GH will have 14 tracks and we have 6 studio albums from TD to TC, a Jon solo album (of course must include 1 track to satisfy his ego) and one atrocious remix album, I'd pick these tracks and sequence them in this order (no these are not my favorite 14 tracks since 1996):

1. It's My Life
2. These Days
3. New Song
4. New Song
5. Who Says You Can't Go Home
6. Lost Highway
7. Have A Nice Day
8. Make A Memory
9. Midnight In Chelsea
10. Wanted 2003
11. We Weren't Born To Follow
12. This Ain't A Love Song
13. Everyday
14. One Wild Night (remix)

There might be a little marketing scheme behind all this too. They'll probably want to represent a little of each album including TLFR, Box Set, OWN- live

Also, There will be a "Greatest Hits" and then possibly an "Essentials" to follow a few years later

Here is mine:
These Days:
This Ain't A Love Song (ballad)
These Days /or Something For The Pain

Crush:
It's My Life
Thank You For Loving Me (Ballad)

One Wild Night Live:
One Wild Night

TLFR:
Wanted 2004 (I think this will be included. Similar to Prayer 94 on C.R.)

Box Set:
Radio Saved My Life /or some other song

Bounce:
Everyday
Misunderstood (or just Everyday by itself off Bounce)

HAND:
Have Nice Day
WSYCGH - This was a #1 country hit and won some awards so this def a given

Lost Highway:
Make a Memory
Lost Highway

Circle:
WWBTF
WWWB / or some other song

Two new songs

18 songs total.
