Re: people saying the crowd wouldn't appreciate it.

The same could be said for I Believe/ Lie To Me that were played on the LH tour. Just because the casual fan doesn't know them doesn't mean they shouldn't be played - in fact they definately should. They might not go down well with the masses but the hardcore would be satisfied.

IMO, the difference is that a song like "I Believe", or "Hey God", or even "TAALS" are the types of songs that a crowd can get into, even if they don't know them. The rockers have the rock, and the ballads are the type of music people "expect" from Bon Jovi. And IMO anyway, are better songs. However, personal feelings aside, it would be cool if they played them, hopefully they'd be some of many rare songs.

I know what you mean, but actually I never compared them. I absolutely love "Cryin'" too, but HBE is the one song on TD that I have to be in the mood for. I still call it a very good song.

My "Hearts breakin' even" experience is that back in 1998 I was sitting in a very small restaurant somehwere on Tenerife, and suddenly this song was on the radio! Unbelievable! I went kinda crazy...

the thing is that "cryin" sounds nothing all like it and even if it did hearts breakin even is in a different league. i mean holy shit what a song. amazing first class lyrics and superb sound. definitely one of their best if not the best, on par with this aint a love song though. hearts breaking even would have been a topten hit no sweat at all!!!!!!

I'm not sure. Saying it is a different league would be the other way around for me.

In fact, "Cryin'" was a top hit!

Hearts Breaking Even and Cryin' most definitely sound alike. I'm sure if there was a separate thread made asking this very question, most people would say yes. Those that don't are those that will never say anything negative about the band.

As for calling the song one of the best, that's your opinion and respect it (as much as possible). I think it is definitely one of the weaker tracks on These Days. It doesn't hold a candle to This Ain't A Love Song.

There's a thread about it.

how anyone can say that i will never understand. respected music critics rate it as the strongest song on the album. is there actually nobody with the maturity to appreciate how meaningfull and incredible those lyrics are. possibly a bit cliche but world class for sure!
