Its just one of those songs that we are all tired of as its on almost every bootlegg since 1993 but always seems to go down well with the crowd at every show. Weird.

IMO thereīs no need for Jon to play guitar in this song. Maybe that would make it more fun.
There was a few times this tour when he didn't use a guitar. It WAS a bit of a change.

Thanks.

Basically, the whole chorus have been toned down, but esp. to the following parts:

Until I'm 6 feet under
Baby I don't need a bed
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Till they roll me over
And lay my bones to rest
Gonna live while I'm alive
I'll sleep when I'm dead

there's a few points to take into consideration:

the chorus is high even when they've tuned everything down a semi-tone for playing live.

it's much easier to hit high notes in normal tuning when you're doing a few takes in a studio booth then to do it when you're singing for 2 and a half hours 3 nights out of every 5 on tour...

singing in the shower or along to the radio and actually doing it properly in a band are two very different things.

They've spruced up born to be my baby? its been the same version since at least the ktf tour. or by spruced up do you mean they've put a bigger break in th esong after richie's solo?

No it hasn't. Not on that tour, at least. They added the break that would be extended a bit as the tour went on, they added a new sing along outro. It was much less "Going through the motions on a song we've played a million times before" and made it fresher, even if the changes were minimal.
