Default Power Station Years.... Anybody actually like it?

I bought this album ages ago now, first week it was released I think. I played it then, and hated it, didn't even get all the way through before I had to take it off. I lent it to a fellow Jovi fan, and he couldn't get through it all as well!

I've just played it now, with the intension of listening to the whole thing, but I just coudn't do it. I couldn't find one track on their I liked, but for about 40 secs on one (sounded Springsteen like, but got bad!).

I'm just interested to know if anybody actually got into this album, it seems to me quite different from the work Jon did in Bon Jovi, and in his solo career....

I got it and I gotta say that there are a few songs on it that I like. (e.g. stringing a line, hollywood dreams, don't do that to me anymore) Sure it's not as good as what came after it but I think most of it isn't bad. The only song that I can absolutely not get used to is All talk, no action.

BTW does anyone know if there's an official release of heartbreak eyes? I only have a crap-quality version.

Can anybody else hear a Supertramp influence over some of the songs, or is this just me?

Mybe I should really try to listen to it, but I just can't get over the cheesy edge to the songs...

I can sort of hear that Supertramp thing but I'm not a Supertramp fan but my friend is, and I've heard a bit of them when I've been with him.

The album is ok, fairly average I'd say. But some of the songs are really not good!

Same here actually. I nearly ended up seeing them last year. I always considered them to be a one song band "dreamer" but have actually found them to be quite good. Another one of those bands I should probably really listen to, but there are so many good bands out there, it's difficult to find the money to listen to everybody!

I like the record although I must say, if you like one song you like the others to because each of them sounds similar.
