It was written for New Jersey in 1988 but did'nt make it. Again, when the band recoreded Keep the Faith it did'nt make it. When the band released These Days it finally made it to an album

Which is crazy, in my opinion. Absolutely amazing song.

Just goes to show that sometimes it's true, that it has to do with a song not fitting a certain album, it would have felt very out of place on NJ and KTF, but on TD it fits perfectly.....

It would fit on New Jersey but not on KTF according to me. But yes, These Days is the perfect record for this song!

I don't think it would fit in any album since I hate this song.
But that's just me

Jersey? Hardly. It does fit perfectly at the end of These Days.

I swear that somewhere I've heard an interview where Jon said it was written for SWW around the same time as Wanted. When I heard the interview I found it interesting that he was writing a proposal type of song prior to SWW. It was an audio tape. Had it been in print, I would have disregarded it.

Same here. The roumors says the first versions of the song saw the light of day while writing the "Slippery When Wet" material. That's just incredible that it's been waiting about 9 years to be released. I think it was really wise decision, because it fits perfectly in "These Days".
