I think it is probably the best slow song on the album. I also believe that you could make a great video clip that tells the story of the song, but obviously it would have to be released as a single for that to happen.

"Standing at the edge of the grand canyon, an eagle flyes by..."

I think it's very corny, and not good. I dislike the lyrics and the sound. It should have been replaced by standing. I love that song.

totally agree with you fred,

I don't know how it squeezed on the album - i think it is the lyrics and storyline i detest most, it does have its moments but overall i skip it..

I am in a hurry to get to hook me up , bounce and Love me back to life - interesting how we have soo different opinions on some of these songs though

I think that it's the best song on the album: great lyrics, beautiful guitar solo and Jon sings it extremely good...

But I have a question - What the heck does "put these sweat socks in your shirt and pray they think you're packing" mean?

Maybe i'm just another stupid Dane but I don't get that part of the song. Does this guy have sweaty socks or what!!!

To me, that means put these socks in your shirt so it looks like you are carrying a gun.

Of course - 'cos they can't afford real guns & hence want the ppl they r about to rob to think they r armed, by stuffing sweatsocks down their shirts.

Ricky and The Narrator are the two characters in the song who are going to commit the crime.

Cool,
then it makes me wonder then, what's the name of the narrator?
Jon could have consider the character as Tommy and Gina, hehehehe.
But then again that would make Living on a prayer useless, wouldn't it??

But really, don't u think it would be cool if the character on right side of wrong is Tommy and Gina (with the entire storyline, living on a prayer==> it's my life(where tommy and gina never back down ==> right side of wrong(then tommy and gina has 4 kids, all hungry one on the way. so they had to do something)
Just my thought.
