If a song is good, it doesn't only sound good with electric instruments, but also in a stripped-down version. So Runaway is a good song - if you take away the guitars, there's still a lot of stuff to stay...
I just don't understand why Jon sings "Ooh runaway" instead of "Ooh she's a little runaway" - I liked it better that way.

I don't mind it, but I prefer the original version of Runaway better. I do have a problem with the "Ooh Runaway" part. Hmm.... Do you think they did this new version because Jon can no longer sing in the high register that he used in the original Runaway? Just a thought...

I hated this version, fortunately they never played it at any of my shows...

I'm so glad they've brought back the electric version, that song was made to rock, and by god it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

If anything that song is about youth, energy, power e.t.c. I think stripped down these elements are taken away, and your left with rock stars protensiously indulging in their own songs. Cool, if you want to sing a slow song, with piano, then write a song, but don't kill a perfectly good rock song.

It would have been cool if it had been part of an acoustic show, MTV or the like. But in a fully blown rock concert... it just doesnt' work

I hate the acoustic version too. Runaway is what made me like BJ. It's not meant to be slow.

I have Crush bonus cd, it's Live from Osaka 2000. I like the part before Jon sing that song (prologue)..."18 years ago, I wrote a song in New York City....(and he told about the street prostitution)...It's long distance dedication"....
Y'know what? A famous Jon Bon Jovi gave his respect to all New York white thrash girl in early 80!
