Stranger is just more edgy for me. Church of Desire, Rosie, Father Time, and Ballad Of Youth or just brillant songs....

I think this album is a truer reflection of Richie, and is a fantastic blues album! His guitar playing on this album is outstanding. I'd also say I prefere this album becuase it was much more Bon Jovi, i.e David an Tico. Also, any album that has a special guest in Eric Clapton can't be bad (a bit like Jeff Beck with Blaze of Glory).

That's not to detract from Undiscoverd soul, I think this is a really good album, but just not as inspiring as Stranger, which I prefere to several bon Jovi albums!

For me, this would be like choosing your favorite child (if I had children) or saying you love one parent more than the other. Both albums are unique and both are lyrical and musical masterpieces. I cannot fathom choosing one over the other as I see an evolution from one album to the next. Both are simply outstanding!

Stranger was one of those albums I couldn't stop listening to...It is fantastic in almost every respect & is still one of my favourite albums.

I think that Stranger is an album you can sit and listen to without skipping a track, but with Undiscovered Soul there is only about 1/2 of the album that I like.

oh I don't know, I've always liked Undiscoverd soul because I can listen to the whole thing, and it's a nice, relaxing album. I wouldn't say there are any bad tracks on it, just more of the blues edge than rock.....

However, I'd say it's the oposite with Stranger. I'm listening to a track, that really rocks, and the temptation is to forward onto the next track because you know that one rockes even more!

I have always like Stranger better. I agree with one of the earlier posts in saying the i can listen to Stranger straight through without skipping a track. Can't say the same about Undiscovered Soul

They are different albums. Richie is more blues on Undiscovered. I prefer Undiscovered, especially the title track.
