Default Without Love

This was turning up on my ipod today.
I always digged this song, but never understand why because its not my type song, but I like it - its actually my fav SWW album track how weird I think of me.
Never heard much of this song, how do people think of it? I always thought it didn't fit on SWW, was kinda seperate song. And its sooooo 80's.

Aloha !

The band didn't seem to be so fond of the song either. It's never been played live, as far as I know.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

It's a big big downer in the flow of the album. I am sure it's something the record company imposed, to have a soppy ballad JUST IN CASE the rock songs don't work out. Luckily, they did!

I always liked the song. If you listen to the version on the DVD side of the dual disc, it adds a bit more to the song.

Yeah, that must be it, because Never Say Goodbye for sure isn't a ballad, they really needed Without Love for that.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I like the song but agree it doesn't really fit on Slippery at all. Maybe it was written for fahrenheit....lol

I also really this song. I think because just about every other song on this LP has been over played on the radio. Definately one of the highlights on SWW when playing it 20 years later.

Is this sentence meant to add something to what I said, is it meant to contradict what I said or are you again trying to be funny? Either way, you failed. My post was an opinion which you were free to disagree with. What the purpose of the cheap sarcasm was is a bit ambiguous. But that's something that makes you "special". Special Like in the first clip that comes up if you search for "Special Ed" on YouTube.

What you posted wasn't an opinion but an accusation of some action the record company supposedly did. And my reply towards your accusation was a theory on why your accusation didn't make any sense. Your reply towards me now was just to post some thing about Special Ed and to bring me into relation to Special Ed, while you were hoping for me to check out that video of Special Ed, hoping that I'd post a reaction about Special Ed, not realizing that all your attempts at trying to be witty and clever always fail. Besides that, Special Ed has nothing to do with the subject in question.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

So your reply was a "theory" again? My oh my, I always get amazed by your level of narcissism. Maybe you simply don't know what a theory is.
My reply was just pointing at the cheap yet unnecessary use of "sarcasm" (although using this word in relation to your post is somewhat debasing its true meaning). I'd assume Special Ed would make use of similar language, that was it.

Interesting that you believe I "attempt" to be clever and witty. I am wondering where that came from. Probably some other "theory" of yours? Just a guess.

Coming back to Without Love: All About Loving You was one such ballad. Jon and Richie played it live ONCE only for a German late night talk show, made clear in the same show they don't really like it. As far as I remember, Andreas Carlsson originally wrote it for Le'Ann Rhymes. I'd assume the record company forced the song onto Bon Jovi despite having at least 2 other ballads on the record.
Same point could be made about She Don't Know Me and just as well the same point could be made about Without Love.

I'm wondering what you'll reply now though. Probably quote my post as originally written by "Idiot" and then talk more about your latest theory which "proves" for once and for all to everyone that record labels don't intervene in song selections. I'm "curious".
