Definitely a highlight song for me from disc #2 of the boxset. Love the catchy optimistic lyrics!!

Definetly a really cool song, so upbeat, but the lyrics aren't overtly positive, more a sort of "I'm dreaming of better days" thing. Assuming it was from the Crush sessions (can't remember offhand), it should have been on the album IMO

I love River Runs Dry...but I think I may have been a lottle too hasty dismissing most of the other tracks on the box set. I'll have to give them another listen.

Yeah, I've always thought "You can Sleep While I Dream" is one of the top songs on the box set. The song is upbeat, catchy, and well written. I like the guitars, the lyrics, the rhythm, the vocals, the whole package. It'd probably find its way in to a list of my favorite Jovi songs.

"Some people see things as they are and ask, 'Why?'
I dream things that never were
I take my shot and say, 'Why not?'"

Love that line.

Oh man, that's my least favorite line in the whole song. I can handle cliches, but that one just makes me cringe. It's so middle school guidance counselor's wall poster.

I shouldn't have checked the board this morning, this has been stuck in my head all day.

It's a very famous quote - originally written by George Bernard Shaw and then later re-quoted by Robert F Kennedy. I have always liked it.

Haha See I wish I knew this before hand. I saw those words hanging from a poster in my college library last year and I did a double take and was like "oh. that's why it's so familiar."

Oh I know it's a famous quote. And I like the quote, I just - I love the writing in "Dream" so much that I think using such a familiar quote detracts. It's a really cool song and then they just pop in the cliche. And it has become a cliche. Doesn't make it any less of a cool quote and a nice sentiment, I just think it's out of place in the song.

I like it. The lyrics are good and the music fits them.
