easilly classical. just reminded me ive got amadeus on dvd to be a watching

V why when we compare dvds to videos videos are absolutely shite and dvds r great but when compared cd's to old LPs people still say LPs r better?

CD's where invented in the early 1980's, so the technology is very old. The music is compressed to 44.1khz 16-bit, which is very low really. SACD uses 1.88mhz 1-bit for better sound, and DVD-A uses 192khz 24-bit for better sound. Pictures on DVD's are good on standard 28" TV's, but on high resolution PC monitors they can look awful.

Just wait for the wide spread introduction of Blu-Ray, which can hold lots more than DVD's, so can be compressed less for better quality.
