I don't know. I don't think it is as much the kids fault as it is the parents. Parents don't want to deal with their kids problems so they blame the teachers and so forth.

On the other hand, I sometimes wonder if some of those teachers could actually make it in the corporate world. I do have high expectations of teachers and very few meet them, but then, teaching does not attract the most ambitious individuals. Of course not all are bad - there are some really good teachers that do it because they LOVE what they are doing - unfortunately they are few and far in between.
