That is the Metropolitan Cathedral (aka Paddy's Wigwam), and is situated right next to the building in which I am undertaking my study of Architecture. Good thing to have as inspiration everyday, lol.

I haven't been to the other one yet, but I will do soon probably.

This week I'll go into the Metropolitan one again and get some photos from inside. The top of the roof and parts of the side are stained glass, ad it casts some great light into the building.

It's actually lager on the inside that it looks from the outside, and what appears to be stone support columns around the edge are actually steel with panels on the outside to make it look like stone, lol.

Apparently it's the largest interior space in any cathedral in Europe.

Once they've finished cleaning it St Georges Hall will look good, and there are a few other buildings near there that are good, but I don't know the names of them, lol.

I spend a lot of my time in shops and the library though, lol, so I haven't been around the city too much, or at least not too far from the city center.

What do you like about St Helens? lol (presuming you've been)
