My general knowledge isn't too good, though I have hardly had much time to build on that, my IQ is about 150 which I think is above average, but I'm quite lazy so don't apply myself a lot.

DVD-A = DVD-Audio: very high quality surround sound, usually with DVD-Video content for normal players
SACD = Super Audio CD: very high quality stereo and surround sound

Both formats of the future, though DVD-A will most likely be more popular
