I wanted to add that I have read somewhere that Christopher Nolan showed Blade Runner to his cast and crew and said: "That's what we're going to make!" That's f***ing cool. The backstreets really reminded me of Blade Runner, and Rutger Hauer's appearance was cool, too. Damn, I'm really in the mood to watch this classic once again...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

katie holmes is not going to be in the next movie

from IMDB

Holmes Dropped from 'Batman' Sequel

Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman have signed to star in a second Batman movie, but love interest Katie Holmes has been dropped. Movie bosses are thrilled with the response to Batman Begins - it took $46.9 million in its first weekend at the US box office - and have snapped up the film's stars for a sequel. Bale as Batman was the first to put pen to paper, followed by Caine as butler Alfred and Freeman as Bruce Wayne's business associate Lucius Fox. But Holmes won't reprise her role as district attorney Rachel Dawes - reportedly because Warner Bros is angry her engagement to Tom Cruise has stolen media attention away from the movie. A source tells Pagesix.Com, "Everyone is in agreement that the movie's strength is with Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman." Adding of Holmes, "She won't be in the sequel... the next romantic interest will be a much stronger actress. Warner is happy that people are now focusing on who'll be playing the Joker rather than Katie and Tom."

They really do need to just drop the "love interest" all together unless they are very much on the sidelines and not interwoven into the story where Batman has to save her butt. It's beyond tired at this point. Nolan didn't even want a love interest in the film, it was a requirement pushed upon him by the studio.

I really hope they handle the Joker correctly. He really should come off as scary and psychotic...the movie should play out like "Seven" a murder mystery with Batman on the Joker's tail. What they should NOT do is have something where again the entire city of Gotham is at risk. It's overdone, too. No big balloons filled with killer laughing gas.

I really don't know who I'd want in the role, but it cannot be something like Jack Nicholson. I would suggest Brad Pitt considering his performances in Kalifornia and 12 Monkeys, but he might be just too big the way Jack Nicholson was.

I'm with Brooke when it comes to Katie Holmes and with BP when it comes to the love interest. Yuck.

I loved the movie and was really impressed by Christian Bale. Never thought he'd pull this off.

saw it today and I REALLY don't do films especially at the cinema.

Brilliant even the scarecrow who is pretty much one of the out there vuilians was made "believable" to an extent.

I don't think katie Holmes was that bad> she asn't great i mean a 26 ish year old female DA that acted like Joey from dawsons creek but meh I won't judge. the problem is. I think part of the love interest is to show his sacrifices he makes to be batman. not being a billionaire playboy to the full doesnt exactly tug the heartstrings, seeing him give up women he loves should. the other films did the same with a different woman in every one.

anyways absolutely fantastic. JBJ's seal of approval.

I saw the movie last week and loved it. I think that it's the best batman movie by far. Loved Christian Bale as Batman. As well as Michael Cain and Morgan Freeman. Two old school actors who are very great at their craft.

Katie Holmes I could do without. I'm glad she isn't going to be in the next movie.

I saw this last weekend and just loved it. I thought it was great. I wasn't sure if I would like Christian Bale as Batman, but I really enjoyed watching him.
