Default Bond

Licence to kill has just come on ITV (UK) & I was just wondering here if anyone has any opinions on James Bond (007)

Which bond do ppl think is best?

Also what is everyones favourite bond?

I think Brosnan is probably the best, followed by Connery then Moore (who got a bit old & who's films were a little bit too tongue in cheek).

My favourite film is hard. I like Goldfinger best from Connery; On her Majesty's secret service is good apart from the ending. Also, Live & let die is probably the best Moore one. I also like Licence to kill - its a bit different.

Best Bond movie is The Spy Who Loved Me. Favourite Bond is probably Roger Moore, although others are doing/did a great job. Even George Lazenby was pretty good. Waiting for november and Die Another Day. Itīs gonna be excellent.

My favourite Bond movie is Golden Eye...I always liked Pierceīs style, Roger is close second. But I must say, George Lazenby was afwul...I donīt know if it was the movie but it was awful.

Well this should really be in Silver Screen forum.

Personally I prefer Brosnan as Bond, although I haven't seen all of the Connery or Moore films. I think Connery was better in the first one (Dr No I think it was) because he actually had an English accent. I always think of Bond as English (not being racist or anything) but I think the strong Scottish accent Connery has (which has somehow gotten stronger as he's aged) didn't fit the role. I though Moore looked and sounded better, but I personally thought his acting was a bit wooden at times. I think that Dalton is always overlooked as he only did 2 films, but I think he was actually better than Moore, and in some ways Connery.

I hope Brosnan does sign on for a fifth, but even if he does I think that would be his last.

Dalton came across as the bond with the most killer instinct or something. He played it really dry and focused you know. Do what you need to do, shoot the ruskies and get home.

licence to kill and living daylights are good Bond films but cos he only done the 2 it;s pretty overlooked.

I'd really like to get the DVD boxset, it's marked down to about Ģ100 now (was Ģ150), and it is cheap really, just a big purchase, lol

I've never liked Bond, though I've not seen more than one straight through. I saw all of The World Is Not Enough, 1/4 of Tomorrow Never Dies, and about half of whatever the first one was. I thought they were stupid. The action scenes are pretty improbable, the badguys might as well be cartoon characters, and the "Bond girls" are annoying, IMO.

And yes Jim, Bond should upgrade to the P99, although personally, I'd point him towards the Detonics Combat Master. Its all-around better.

The movies are all virtually the same; bad guy does something, Bond gets on their trail, teams up with a couple of women (one bad, one good usually), gets the bad guy, figures the bad girl is bad, and then ends up in bed with the good girl at the end, lol. The action is unbelievable, and the bad guys are quite cartoon-like, but to me that's what makes the movies fun to watch. You know it isn't meant seriously, so you can just sit and watch them, without having to think "oh that couldn't happen" etc...same as you would with a comic book hero like Batman or Superman.
