Crowe To Star In New Batman Movie, Says Bale

Russell Crowe will make a surprise appearance in the next Batman movie, Caped Crusader star Christian Bale has revealed.

Bale let the secret slip during an interview to promote '3:10 To Yuma', in which both actors star.

He told iF Magazine: "Russell's going to actually be in the new Batman movie, which is a big surprise and I want to reveal it to everybody right now."

Bale refused to reveal if Crowe will play a villain in The Dark Knight - which is due for release next year.

I think he'd be great for two face, but who really knows??
But the way Batman Begins ended I thought that the Joker would be the Villain now.

He will be, and the rather contraversial choice made was Heath Ledger. Also, Maggie Gylenhaal will be replacing Katie Holmes (she's a better actor anyway)

Hope he has to fight woman, he's very good at that

It all depends on Ledger's portrayal of the Joker. After Jack Nicholson hamming it up with his really camp and outrageous performance, Ledger would be crazy to try the same. The promo's suggest a much darker psychotic Joker this time, so if he can take it in that different direction it could work. I've never been one for remakes, particularly where a performance like Nicholson's is pretty much universally agreed as being great.
