I love the Joker, and I feel like he could have carried this movie on his own without all of the added drama. I know why it was there, but I just think it could have been saved for a lesser villain.

No, not for me, may he rest in peace, but even he was still alive he would still deserve an Oscar his perfromance was still amazing. Heath Ledger has created one of the greatest villians along the lines with Anthony Hopkins Hannibal Lector.
