Or he's just got older and with time came all faults you see in many people. Selfishness, self-absorption. And bitterness or course, a trait many here have developed through the years too.

Furthermore who's being hypocritical ? Richie's been prominent in Bon Jovi's success, there's no denying that. But who put the band back on tracks with KTF ? And looking at Richie's way of leading his career, that's lucky Jon's always been the driving force in the band. You can be arrogant and conceited but that doesn't mean you're wrong, it just means you're a prick. And for the masses, it's obvious Bon Jovi have always been about Jon.
First, yes I went back about 15 years for that quote. Because it was in response to Thinny's "Remenber the days when..."

Second, selfishness and self-absorption are traits typically associated with children more than mature adults; and very young children at that.

Third, you question my use of 15-year-old footage, but then go back at least 10 years prior to that to use KTF as an example? That's consistent. (And fyi, Jon didn't put them back on track all by himself, all those years ago.)

Fourth, yes, Jon has been the driving force; but I'm not sure that's always a good thing since he's already admitted that he was the one responsible for nearly driving the band into the ground with NJ. It will probably take another 20 years before he can admit to almost finishing that job with WAN.

Fifth, being the driving force doesn't mean he has been the sole creative force. That wasn't just Jon; or even just Jon and Richie. That was the entire band, as well as a host of outside forces. As for the masses, you may be right. Most of them did equate Bon Jovi with Jon Bon Jovi. That doesn't mean they were right. (But if they hang in long enough maybe their day will come; because it sure seems like Jon's trying to move it more and more in that direction.)

Sixth, I can agree with you that, right or wrong, Jon came across like a prick in these articles. A selfish, self-absorbed, self-aggrandizing - not to mention ungrateful - prick. But it sounds like you're okay with that; and nobody's saying you shouldn't be, so rock on!
