It'd explain why so many new titles were listed on ASCAP over the last few months. Though the fact that they are and the new album isn't is kind of interesting. If my theory is right we'll be getting Sex Sells on this release.

You can count on him doing that since only a raw "guide" demo had been produced and I don't think he'd wanna include that.

I dno, there are a few songs I can think of on the box set that were guide vocals, I think the more far fetched aspect is that another artist has recorded it already. Granted not a lot of people know it but still. Looking back, I'm drawing a blank thinking of any song they gave to another artist and then released their own version.

House of Fire and Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore were on the deluxe New Jersey release, can't immediately think of any other off the top of my head though.

Well, he allowed the abysmal vocal on the box set version of Starting All Over Again to be released, when they also had the fantastic vocal version that was a B-Side/Bonus Track...so you never know...

I honestly don't think Jon had an awful lot of involvement with the boxset - it was all Obie. Not saying he didn't listen to it at all, but half-heartedly. And not enough to notice the wrong vocal on Starting All Over Again, or the completely wrong version of The Fire Inside.

I think I agree but only partly. There's the video footage of Jon being.....coerced into include Letter to a Friend on the box set but it's also clear he had pedal steel added to River Runs Dry, more guitars to I Get A Rush and had Jeff Kazee come in to add organ parts, not sure to what though.

All of that could have been Obie's doing too I guess but if Jon cared enough to fix up some of the songs he could have just wanted a raw-er version of what we already had for Starting All Over Again. I can't stand that version but the fact that we got a different version of something we already had was appreciated on my end. Ruined Real Life though.

True, I'm sure Obie did all the work in compiling the tracks, but Jon is a control freak. He wouldn't have let anything out there without being approved by him first.....
