I saw the stories on BJ instagram and they all stink! JBJ can't do it worse >_< jaja (I hope)
Very Shanks song, in the name of God we need a guitar solo... U_U

It's for sure Shanks doing that chime-y lead line, I would assume/hope Phil on Rhythm. No reason to think it's not Hugh but they're wasting what Phil is capable of HARD on this one. To me drums sound live but there's no character to them. Synth parts don't sound very Dave-y to me.

If anyone's keeping score, that would be the 2nd song, from what we're told will be a 10-track "band" album, where the band involvement seems to range from very little to none. And there's a third one coming at some point.

Quote:
And when I wrote [Lower the Flag], I was playing it for a bunch of people, Shanks was one of them. [...] And Shanks was like, “That’s a great hook.” I go, “Well, this song isn’t about hooks, it’s about telling this story.” And then I still had no title. That’s when I put the last line repeating what the first line did, and I said, “There’s the title, ‘Lower The Flag,’” because that’s exactly what the whole thing is about.

Even that bridge was just so different for me, (singing), “If there’s something we can talk about, let’s talk about it.” And the rhythm of that melody was something that I’d written, I got it, I did it and went in the studio with it. I had everything completely finished, and I went in with (bassist) Hughie (McDonald) and [drummer] Tico [Torres], me and Shanks. And I was playing guitar, and I’m playing the guitar on the record, and Tico starts playing, and we said, “[the drum] is not helping, it’s hindering the progress of the song.” We said, this isn’t a drum song, this isn’t what this should be. And so he flew all the way to California and didn’t play on it, because we knew what we had lyrically and just wanted to tell the story...

Seriously? The Love In An Elevator solo is immense....

Livin' On The Edge? Draw The Line? There's loads of very memorable solos

Not really feeling that comparison; that one's in major, for one.

These Days (the song) and LOAP also have mighty unoriginal chord sequences, BJ are really not a band that's ever been all about original harmonic changes.

I quite like the solo of The Other Side. It seems a little improvised, true, but it is very memorable IMO.

That was so awkward in so many different ways.

Richard Marx new album is called limitless. I suppose there's a title track o it?? Not that it will make much of a difference or that the songs are gonna be alike in any way, I just found it funny as this isn't the first time this has happened when a new album is to be released lol.....
