I'm really struggling here... It's not a matter of liking or hating the song... I'll wait to hear the entire thing to make that decision...

What I can judge is the production and the first verse which is nothing but pure shit. I'm sure listening to These Days today definitely didn't help things however this is just "another one of those songs"...

It's We Don't Run, meets Knockout, meets Beautiful World, meets The More Things Change, meets Walls...

I don't mind these songs as fillers, bonus tracks, etc but this should not be leading the album...

Shanks and Jovi have zero chemistry. Even when I go back to HAND, when Jon still had some natural talent left in him, I still never dug Shanks production... Considering Jon spent 3 days in the studio (or a very limited time), I get why he still uses the guy but this is just terrible...

No substance, no depth, and zero emotion from Jon...

I think the vocals are done in one take and then they just do anything with them after that... Slow them down, speed them up, filter the tone, take about bad notes, change the pitch etc.

I just don't get it.

I kinda think Jon has just been pumping out albums just for the sake of it,for me it all started with the What About Now album,I feel like Jon just randomly writes songs and records them and throws them together and calls it an album and we end up with songs that sound unfinished or over-proccessed or lyrics that sound mediocre.

Best song since These Days isn’t it?

That vocal melody really gives it a different vibe 😹 (sorry)

I agree with you 100%.
Shanks colaboration with BJ should have finished in The Circle.
They are in a very comfortable zone,I dont need to listen to the new album to know how it is going to sound and how the new songs are going to be.
It is just more of the same record over record over record.
Jon has no more passion on music anymore, its just his work.He releases new records and play small legs of tours just like we go to our works.
The passion for music is long gone,I think since LHighway or even before.

Remember his end goal.... To own an NFL team. And last time he tried his net worth wasn't enough to partner with very rich people (companies).

I've always believed that these tours and albums is for that sole purpose.

I don't mind the snippet. Doesn't sound as great as Walls (which I'm a big fan off), but I'll reserve proper judgement until I hear the full thing.

Sounds better than THINFS. I don't mind THINFS as a song but it didn't grab me all that much.

WWWU and Walls were proof of that. I hope that in this new album, at least, John Shanks does some magic to show us the best that Jon can show.
I couldn't agree with you more Rolo. Studio album will last longer than a tour.

I agree - it’s just a means to an end. Richie may have gone off the rails and made some wrong decisions over the years but I always felt from him that music is a passion. You don’t get that from Jon.☹️
