Maybe, but more likely is that the album won't have a big single.

No idea if the choir, Harry voice or different lyric could save this song Unbroken. But I really hope this version can be better.
And Limitless, in my opinion, is good as a single (maybe we will never hear again a guitar solo >_< jajaja) I mean Unbroken and Limitless doesn't have one.

The cover looks like an election poster. What if he became president?

JBJ; «I would speak of" we ", a word we are losing from the vocabulary, and not of" me ". America today is all a "me", we are divided and I fear that from here to the elections we will be even more, but there is an opportunity for someone among the Democrats to give life to a platform that unites ».

Are you getting used to working without Sambora, guitarist and his historical partner?
JBJ; «I'm on my third album and about 180 concerts without him. It was not easy. I discovered that I have the strength of two men and the wild nature of ten. I wrote songs on my own even before, what I missed was friendship. It helped me to see here in London a concert organized by Mick Fleetwood to pay homage to Peter Green, the old partner in Fleetwood Mac. With him on stage there were Pete Townshend who saw Moon and Entwistle die, Gilmour who no longer talks to Waters, Steven Tyler who had his ups and downs with Joe Perry: all went from what I experienced and yet I saw them still having fun ».

Did it bother you that you had never been considered cool by music critics?
JBJ; «Today we surpassed it and we are respected, but in the 80s there was a moment in which in the Grammy hard rock category Jethro Tull won and not" Slippery When Wet ", our 20 million copies album ... That's why with "New Jersey" I wanted to demonstrate what we were capable of doing. Now I feel I don't have to prove anything anymore. In the past few months I have invited Springsteen and McCartney to my studio to make them feel "Lower the Flag", like that, voice and guitar. I speak of music face to face with my myths: we did it ».

Hey Jon, if you're reading this: No guitar solos, no party. Call Sambora, because without Richie this is not much fun.

Jethro Tull won in 1989, after both Slippery and New Jersey were released. It was Metallica who lost out in a shock decision, not Bon Jovi. Strange that Jon would link that to the band.

If I were a real pain in the ass, I'd tell you that the album is actually called Bon Jovi 2020 and not just 2020

Interesting interview I must say. And I like the parts you underlined, Rolo.

1.We instead of I? Wish Jon would also apply it to his *solo* band

2. He finally admitted to missing his friendship with Richie. Saying it out loud should make some fans stop saying JBJ doesn't give a crap about Richie or even doubt their friendship was real.

3. He doesn't have to prove anything anymore. Well, true. Never before was it so obvious that Bon Jovi is a one-man band.

I feel like people are stretching for some element of surprise. At this point who really cares if Jon refers to the band as we, I or us.

- Bon Jovi was always 60% Jon, 30% Richie, and 10% the other members.

Note: When I say Jon, that includes members he uses outside of the band. Billy Falcon etc. His guys...

Now with Richie gone, it's 90% Jon and 10% other members.

- This has always been Jon's band. They didn't form in a traditional way where that all started from zero and worked their way up together. Jon had minor success as a solo artist and formed the band around that. So these guys were hired guns from the start and just remained that way.

- Even if Richie rejoined, the music will remain the same... They are are not going to go on vacation together and write and album like they did back in the day... They are still going to make them digital, and I'm sure Shanks will still be in the picture.

Jon and the guys have an active family life so their priorities have shifted... Jon is also too busy running for fake president and NFL Team owner so he really doesn't even have the time to make a real commitment to albums anymore.

I think most fans are hanging in there for that one last huge song. I think with every new single, every new album, they are just waiting for that one last great one. I'm hoping it's Lower The Flag.

They are done as a touring act due to Jon's voice.

When Jon says he's good at touring, he's not talking about his performance... He's talking in a business sense. Aka revenue.

Just like Bruce Springsteen and The Street Band, it should be called Jon Bon Jovi and The Bon Jovi Band.

I don't care if Jon is the contract man, I don't care what they are now... If not what they once were.

For me, and for many fans, Bon Jovi was a ROCK BAND, with a great leader, of course, but the great thing about this was the JBJ*RS pair. That is why I came to love this band so much. Even when they made mediocre records with John Shanks.

None of Jon's solo records have caught my attention like Bon Jovi, and I'm not referring to the brand, but to the guys who formed it, especially the guitarist, co-songwriter of most of the catalog, his guitar sound, his voice, his magic live. All that is really important, and not the brand, or THE MAN. What really made him special even though they was aging badly, is gone.

There is a big difference in getting old badly but having Sambora on the board. At least it would be more tolerable. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it, Jon knows it ... but the ego wins.

And every time Jon makes these stupid statements believing himself the important guy, and underestimating his band and his former friend and former arms partner, I'll be there to balance the balance a bit. Because he's playing dirty.
