2020: The New Album

I don't know what to say here. There's a good chance it's going to be a boring 6 months. How can they expect to sell an album that 50% of has been released? They can do a million things to help pass the time but putting most of it out for free is bad business.

I think there are artists that can use the model of releasing single after single before the album comes up to keep excitement going but by now the band has to know their songs do okay at first and then fizzle out. If they were giving them two or three months of extra promo, maybe, but we all know that's not the case. Limitless came out and they didn't do jack promoting it.

Because they only need the fans and sell tikets for the shows. So ... maybe they should try various singles and test the waters.

I hope too a deluxe edition with more bonus tracks.

Test the waters for what? It completely takes the value out of people, other than the people already getting with their tickets, buying it. You're coming at this from someone who wants the album now versus a business's perspective. If they're gonna have to put out something now Jon doing some different version of the song acoustically is smart. The band doing webcam stuff is smart. Stories behind the songs, samples of lyrics, so many ways to drum up interest. Little viral videos etc. THAT's getting a ball rolling. Releasing full songs goes in the opposite direction.

JBJ said they were "making videos for the first 2 singles: Limitless and Beautiful Drug. We're making it with the director Marc Klasfeld, who worked with us long time ago doing Misunderstood and All About Loving You" and that they wanted incorporate action so this Virtual Reality application really works in the song (Limitless), about Beautiful Drug he said it's about love and about Lower The Flag deals wirh the shootings.
Basically that the record is about optimist, faith, politics, a snapshot of time blablabla...

Anyone remember when / where that first semi completed version of Do What You Can was played?

Agree. From what we have heard Beautiful drug seems quite upbeat so to have Unbroken 2nd doesn’t make any sense.

I probably won’t put unbroken on my phone when I download it. But I’m stuck with it on the vinyl version.
It Might surprise us and it might fit well...you never know,
