Shutting down the political talk early folks, can we please keep it about the new album?

Listening to the new DWYC, yeah they really countrified it.

Bon Jovi - Do What You Can ft. Jennifer Nettles - YouTube

EDIT: Call it a guilty pleasure, call it whatever, this is probably their catchiest single since Because We Can and I can see it doing really well in this format.

This duet is basically the shit I thought, predictable and zero exciting. That this type of song succeeds scares me, since they could win another grammy and have this crap permanently on the setlists of the shows.

Oh anyone that thinks it needs to be a hit to stay in the setlist is fooling themselves. Born to Follow is still getting played. This song ain't going anywhere as far as setlists go, mark my words.

I thought the first release sounded too country and was wishing we had something with a little more rock sound. I really like the song and the faster tempo - it just reminded me too much of Lost Highway. Then, we get a new release and it's even more countrified! So far, haven't loved any of the singles for this new album.. this is my favorite though.

Do what you can...

With or without Jennifer Nettles it is a catchy pop country song with no soul.

I sometimes think if Jon from 83 could glimpse into 2020 and hear this music what he might think?..

I'm curious how/why people are hearing the country in it prior to the JN version. The guitar lick has a bit of twang but it just sounds like stock BJ/Shanks otherwise. To me at least.

Really enjoying the duet version. It's not old school BJ, but it is perfectly serviceable radio pop/rock. And it is uptempo, which works in the genre's favor.
