The solo isn't going to make or break the song. I like what I'm hearing but it's not an instant classic and will most likely be dropped/forgotten by Jon after this album/tour runs its course.
I feel it's a very similar solo to the outro during the This House Is Not For Sale live performance.
It's got that reving motorcycle Motley Crue sound. It's not really Bon Jovi, It's doesn't have any emotion, but it's got great energy and I can see Jon having fun with it during a live setting. Similar to what he did during the This House performance. He did that reving hand motion and then lets Phil take off.
Each time an album drops, I try to envision every song in a live setting. A perfect example is Knockout. I thought it worked well live. It's a quick, high energy, great arena acoustic, flow-up to the opener, and then the second song leading into Bad Name.
I don't know how the entire song is structured yet but it could be an opener or follow up to the opener due to it's high energy sound... I can see Jon making the set list now... Copy/Paste from last tour. Take out This House, insert Beautiful Drug, Done!!!
