Keep in mind, no one wants to go through surgery. It's a risk and there are no guarantees that it will even work. A 60 year old rock star just doesn't risk surgery at that point in his life.
Due to studio tricks and technology, he can still have a recording career.
When it comes to his live voice, he's relearning how to sing all his songs. It's terrible to listen to online. In person, it's not as bad due to certain cover ups. He does sing certain songs better than others. For some reason Its My Life and Bed Of Roses still sounds decent while others need to be put out of their misery.
I think there are two things going on. His middle range is shot and he cant hit high notes during a key change. He can sing in a higher note but he cant key change into one. And then his middle range and breathing are working together, against him. Its raw and raspy.
Its disappointing when you compare him to how he once was in the past. But when you look at what he gave us, you almost have to accept it as a true fan.
Once Tom Brady starts to slow down, do you shit on him for not performing the way he once did or do you look at the 9 Super Bowls and 6 Championships?
Yes, I'd like to see Jon put in more studio time to develop the songs into what they should be. But I'm not going to hate on him for the way he sounds.

Yep. I think Jon doesn't sound so terrible to me at least. When I listen to those bits like Blood On The Water, just can't help but get excited so I hope the guy doesn't give up and keep making records. What would Jon does then? leave the music? We all know that Jon would never do that, he loves to compose and record songs, he even loves to play live despite his shortcomings. So I hope it continues to be active for many years.
I am very critical of his approach, but despite everything, every time he releases a song, or a new album, it is a great experience. I hope when I grow old, Bon Jovi continues to release records, I see the old fans of Los Rollings Stones and Bruce Springsteen enjoy their bands in their retirement. I want to get to that ****ing point, I want to get old and Bon Jovi are still making records.
