That's what I was thinking. But doesn't "I'm ... by trade" mean something like his profession? So is it meant as being sung by Trump as someone who's only been elected because of a russian hack?

And no, I'm not wanting to get into politics (at least not this time ), I'm just curious...

"By trade" is kinda like "someone with expertise on something", better than the regular people.
