Black Pink also have their album release this week. I can't see Jovi hitting number one unfortunately! Hope I'm wrong.

nop... one of the biggest things on that album regarding sales is that at some point every ticket for a show you bought, you got an album... that's how they got to number one twice... not saying that is not going to sell well but it's not gonna be something gigantic

Hypethical: does anyone think Shanks could have filled Richie's shoes instead of Phil? If Phil bailed tomorrow, could Shanks jump right in?

Hi Jovitalk, long time no see.

Listened to the songs off 2020 and liked what I heard, initial impressions are much better than that of the last 3 albums. Really like how much more organic it feels.

Had a feeling nagging at me that I had heard Blood In The Water before and then it hit me: it's basically Dry County 2.0. Love the song but you can basically sing the Dry County chorus over the BITW chorus.

Alright I'm off until the next album drops. Until then!

Very good review, well done! I agree with most of your rankings, though I think Let it Rain and Do What You Can should trade scores. I agree though that this album really does separate itself from the rest of their catalogue, like Lost Highway did, and some of the songs would possibly work a little better if they weren't as direct (American Reckoning, Unbroken, Do What You Can, etc). Looking forward to the other review videos when you make them!

He'd do horribly. Shanks is very talented at constructing solos with different takes in the studio and he has a great ear for melody. But live, he's not able to do half of what he does in the studio, much less what Richie did in the 80's and 90's.....

Yeah, this is my opinion too. I love the melodies and how soothing some of his guitar work sounds but in terms of filling in as the main guitarist, it wouldn't work.

Radio 2 in the UK have 2020 as their album of the week next week, so some album tracks will get an airing. Don't know if this will really help with sales, but it at least goes out to a big audience
