That’s good as there has been next to no promo in the UK - apart from the interview with Kay Burley on a news channel there hasn’t been anything!

Thanks so much. Beautiful Drug breathes live, that's great. That is why first I like to listen to studio songs, so we have expectations to hear them live, and get a pleasant surprise. However, when a new song is first heard live before the studio version, expectations are broken in both directions.

Bon Jovi tackles social injustice in new album ?2020? - YouTube
The comments under this video are all what's wrong with society nowadays. A bunch of useless mother****ers thinking their opinions are relevant whatsoever and trying to explain who's entitled to speak their minds. I'm glad human race will probably be wiped out from the surface of this planet in 2 centuries or so. Let's hope next dinosaurs will do better than us.

This is like Bon Jovi wrote a tribute album to themselves (and threw some covers in there).

Limitless = pretty much any generic live your life song since It's My Life
Do What You Can = Who Says You Can't Go Home
American Reckoning = When We Were Beautiful
Beautiful Drug = Have a Nice Day meets Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit
Story of Love = Jacques Brel's Amsterdam to Billy Joel Piano
Let it Rain = Blood on Blood
Lower the Flag = Springsteen's Atlantic City
Blood in the Water = Dry County
Brother in Arms = Good Guys Don't Always Wear White has grown very old
Unbroken = Motorhead's 1916

Don't get me wrong, here's some surprisingly good stuff in there, and it's good they wrote a tribute to themselves basically, rather than copying generic music from radio but it reminds me a bit of Steel Panther albums where they have one song sounding like Van Halen, one like Jovi, one like Motley Crue, one like Poison, one like Def Leppard and one a bit edgier, Ozzy or Maiden...

Anyway - can't see any of the songs making my regular playlists but can see how I'll be giving it a spin every now and then.

The begining of Let It Rain is exactly the SAME to the begining of Bruces Land Of Hope And Dreams in the Wrecking Ball studio version.
Exactly the same.

Yep, I don't understand why Jon isn't more subtle with these things. He did the same with that bass line in Working Man copying Living On A Prayer, this kind of thing spoils the experience a bit, since it was not necessary to trace every note.

Blood In The Water is a good example of doing things well, it is the spiritual sequel to Dry County, but it does not feel plagiarized, it has its own identity. Jon throws something of Pink Floyd, but does not feel at any time a tracing, switch a few notes and get that vibe. By the way, this song is the life, you could put it on repeat for a whole day.

There was an interview on Planet Rock this week too, but yeah promo has been almost non existant. I wouldn't be suprised if it doesn't make the top 5 over here.

I wonder what Jon's master plan will be in the coming months-years. The promotions that other bands are doing because they can't play live are not good. So I guess Jon has something in mind. Maybe write and compose again? the guy seems to be inspired. I would like to know what the batch of songs that didn't make it into the album were like, Jon sometimes pass up some gems. I would love another album or an EP with more material from the recording sessions of 2020 album, b-side...

Being subtle has never been one of Jon's qualities. He's always been pretty straightforward, lyrics wise too.
I disagree about WFTWM though. That's clearly an hommage.
