I'm sure he said on the iheart radio interview they re-recorded one of the verses, so would the video be the original version?

I don't think so. Queen will trounce it, in my opinion.

The video was filmed pre pandemic so no, it's not coming out. I'll say that I'm sure it's the first verse. If you listen to the footage of them filming it you can vaguely hear the poet's verse etc. But I also swear I hear "it's all around.." in the pre chorus. Either way theyd need real tricky editing to not show Jon's mouth for an entire verse.

Guys, which songs were re-recorded/changed lyrics since the delay? The George Floyd/riots/protests were not there originally right? So wonder what was the original content. Bashing the government?

Shine and Luv Can were swapped for American Reckoning and Do What You Can.

Both are available on the Japan release, I think one verse of Beautiful Drug was changed also.

Long time no see - hope you are all well!

At the last minute I decided to cancel my CD preorder as Amazon was giving me a delivery date sometime next week. Instead I decided to stream it on Spotify - my first time listening to a new BJ album in digital format. So that is what I’ve just done, in the bedroom, headphones on and eyes closed - no distractions.

I’ve always tried to be positive about the band’s output, and while they have never reached the levels of their mid 80s - mid 90s run, I’ve always really liked their music. Less so with each subsequent album, but there have always been a few songs I’ve liked on the albums.

2020 has broken that run. On my first listen I really didn’t like it, at all. With the world the way it is, I really didn’t need Jon to give me a commentary of what is going on, there are far more qualified and affected people doing that on a daily basis. I found it really quite dull, and towards the last few songs I even skipped before I reached the end. Right now I’m pretty sure I’ll not bother listening again, but never say never.

Can’t say I’m too disappointed as I had a feeling from the few headlines I’ve read about the album that this was the direction he was going in. It’s not even musically good to make up for the lyrics. Not for me unfortunately.
