Why would DB not be on a WAN era track?

I more-so meant Phil not being on it leans me in that direction but DB is what makes that one weird. A song missing an actual band member feels very pre-2013 to me before it started to "matter" if that makes sense.

I'm not sure, the vibe of the song is very Thick as Thieves/Room at the end of the world but I may be overthinking it.

- The majority of the acoustic guitar work is Shanks but Jon played a bunch too
- No Phil on American Reckoning
- Phil's only backing vocals are Limitless, Beautiful Drug and Do What You Can which is weird, I can swear I hear him on Brothers in Arms but that must be Everett

Is there anything that anyone else finds interesting about this list?

Shanks plays a role bigger than I thought on the recording. I swear I heard Phill on BiA too!

Another thing: 2020 seems to be sinking here in Brazil after six days on n° 2 basically... I don't recall to see any airplay of the new songs down here

They are not sinking in Brazil. Probably they are still in the first positions but these iTunes charts are not 100% reliable. The same happened yesterday in the Spain charts when out the blue they were not there anymore. Today they are back in 5 position. Try again tomorrow.

I saw it one time yesterday in 7 position. You're probably right.

Anyhow "2020" has already done better than THINFS on iTunes on it's first week in here.

Beautiful Drug on Ellen:

Good performance. At least Jon left the mic a little bit.
And unfortunately Phil's guitar is too low in the mix...

Yes the music biz isn't what it once was but a good album from an artist with a fanbase will still sell.

Jon can sit there and say he never chased trends etc but a huge chunk of that fanbase love the 80s-early 00s Jovi and thats all they want to hear.

They dont go to a gig to hear anything from the last 4 or 5 albums do they.

Jon's released his most relevant album in terms of what its about but the irony is bon jovi just aren't relevant any more. No casual is buying this and a lot of the older fanbase won't either. Its not what they want jovi singing about.

I've seen some odd people on twitter buying 2 or 3 copies as they want 1 signed in gold and one signed in silver etc...without those people this album would be a lot lower.

Maybe Jon should stop with daft statements like Bono's childhood upbringing as well, that has irked plenty too.

maybe Shanks should be an official band member instead of Phil!

Ah well.

I’m quite surprised that haven’t had Jon on The One Show as he’s usually on there. The only thing he’s done is the Steve Wright show and there has been no adverts in the papers or anything so no wonder it’s bombing here.
