There is an image of the recording board of the WAN sessions where you can read three songs that we did not know, State of Your Union, Times Like This and Shine.

Shine has a bit of that Thick As Thieves, Into The Echo vibe. So it could be the same one but obviously reworked and updated. Just a theory.

This Ain't Love was re-written as This Is Love This Is Life for the greatest hits. It must have been close to making The Circle as it was on promo cds for the interviewers to listen to at the press junkets in Japan.

Didn't know about that. Thanks!

Yep, Jon said that he thought "This Ain't Love" sounded too harsh, so he changed it to "This Is Love, This Is Life". He didn't mention whether there had been any other lyric changes though.

The interview where it's mentioned is great. "This is my favorite song!" "Oh, it's not on the record anymore". But yeah, I quite like that song. Truth be told, 3/4 of the Greatest Hits songs were pretty damn good.

Yeah I remember that one well.
Massa: "My favourite was This Ain't Love."
Jon: "You like it?"
Masse: "Yeah."
Jon: "Good, 'cause I'm pulling it..."

Something along these lines, haven't probably watched it since 2009 but it somehow got stuck D:

Jon was talking about that Bed Of Roses took some time, that he went and rewrote Beautiful Drug, that American Reckoning took him a long time (he rewrote that at least 3 times), that Lower The Flag was written but the bridge (all of the listing of the cities) came 3 or 4 days later when he had the thought to do that, that Blood In The Water probably took him a week to write, that Halo "I co-wrote that one with Billy Falcon, and we tried and we tried; and we kept rewritten it, working on the second day the third day on the studio. Chorus is great verses isn't great, verses is great chorus isn't right", that Let It Rain was a song that he wrote and rewrote a couple of times, and then he mentioned Shine.
So yeah it's probably the same Shine of What About Now. And remember that the album The Circle was going to be called: Shine.

Pretty much. I think he said "good" because he was saving it to be a single on the next one or something?

Jerry Braden is an absolute slimeball. I've had a run in with him and his weird housewife cult followers on Twitter. I can't stand the guy.

When limitless came out and I dared to criticise it and point out to him that you don't have to like everything Jovi do his answer was "go back to your slippery records." It got way out of hand after that, and all of his brainwashed followers were tweeting abuse and all sorts. He ended up blocking me then un-blocking me a few weeks later. Never apologised though.

He's everything wrong with the fanbase 'these days' and he's probably a major reason why it's so toxic. I can't understand why people give him the time of day.

Couldn't agree more. In my opinion, those fans who can't handle any kind of criticism towards their idol or anything said/done honestly without kissing the ass of said person do not deserve to be described as diehards among us. People like J.B. are on the edge of their fandom becoming an obsession, which - especially in these kinds of cases - isn't a good thing at all.
