Yeah, I'm baffled by Story Of Love being a single. Although, I'm sure around this time last year, Story Of Love was meant to be released as a single? So it's always been in the pipeline.

Beautiful Drug would definitely be my choice of single. I've had it on the speaker a few times in the gym and people like it.

That's a really good point. Without the end progression the chord structure is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeerry repetitive. Which honestly might be good for radio...? Not that I think stations will play it.

If Valentine's Day is the reason for the release, they should release Luv Can.

While not my favorite from the record, Beautiful Drug obviously should be a single. It's the most streamed song from the album (not counting tracks which were pre-released) on Spotify, too, at 1,5 million streams. Story of Love is at a mere 630k.

While I like Story Of Love, I agree that it's a bad choice for a single, even for Jon's history in picking the wrong singles. Also, there are serious vocal flaws in this one, which almost ruin the listening experience for me.

I'd pick Brothers In Arms, Let It Rain or Beautiful Drug.

This was the quote in the Pollstar interview, back in December 2019: The Story Of Love is expected to drop in January. A tour, quarterbacked by Live Nation's Bob Roux domestically and Denis Desmond in the UK and Europe, is expected to be announced.

I remember that interview. A few days later Shanks replied a question saying Story Of Love wasn't meant to be the first single.

It'd really depend what "single" means though. I don't believe Unbroken, and American Reckoning were released to radio. If we're talking official releases with promo pushes:

Limitless and Do What You Can

would be the two proper singles. The rest was just put out online which doesn't really...define a single? Unless I'm wrong on the verbiage. Does anyone know?

That's how I see it too. Only those two were released to promote the album. The other two were put out and happen to be on the album but served their own purposes.

Being just a bonus track, that song obviously doesn't exist on Jon's mind as an official part of the album... It will probably never be played live (apart from the "On A Night Like This" version that we already have) either.
